Star Wars - All The Feels

Yes, Star Wars gives me all the feels

Emotional heart string tugging over an inanimate object

We Are Star Wars Fans

The struggle between light and dark

A father trying his hardest to protect his daughter

and this...

Obi-Wan Cannolli

I promised all the feels, didn't I? Plus I figured you could use a good laugh after that whole emotional rollercoaster

Thanks to Nerd Approved who wants to make me cry all things Star Wars

Tunage Tuesday - Star Wars Duels

art by SoniaMatas

I'm sure like me, you are all still on a Star Wars kick after the release of The Force Awakens.
I love the ever present story of light vs. dark and the battles that come with it.

Well, today we are going to appreciate some of those duels in Musical form. So sit back and enjoy and cheer for your preferred side.

First Up, we have Taylor Davis vs. herself in this amazing violin medley

The Amazing people over at Player Piano have put together a beautiful medley, as well as these awesome SW pianos. It's a long video but totally worth watching

Kuma Films brings us this amazing video of how both the dark side and the light side train with lightsabers. It's very impressive

This is the Fencing Senior World Championships Moscow 2015 where these 2 jedi really show off their skills. Amazing!

Okay, back to music, here is a great video from Jimmy Fallon, The Roots & The Force Awakens Cast! It's really amazing!

And just because it's adorable, here is Oscar Issac doing a cover of Bill Murray's Star Wars theme

May the Force be with you no matter what side you choose

Thanks to Fashionably Geek & Betty Felon for these great numbers

Crazy Lightsaber Addiction

What is it about lightsabers that make us want bigger and better ones all the time?

We started off single bladed, then 2 and now The Force Awakens trailer brings us 3.
Well, as usual, the internet can't stop at just 3. They want more and more and more!
So many more, that it has become a meme.

These are my two favorite videos  that have come out of this.

I totally want Barriss Offee's curlicue lightsaber! That thing is awesome!

I also love the lightsaber corgi, but I don't think I would want one for obvious reasons. The lightsaber nun-chucks are pretty awesome though, or maybe the flail... so many choices

How would you choose?

How to Properly Use A Lightsaber

Hey all,

I know I haven't been posting much lately. I've just started a new job, so the trend might continue on for a little while. I promise I will post as often as I can.

Since I'm in training for aforementioned new job, I though I would share a training video with you. And not just any training video, but one on how to properly handle a lightsaber.

I feel like I've learned a lot, how about you?  I will admit that I love this scene in the movie and the choreography is stunning, but having it broken down like that, I'm not sure I will ever look at it the same way again.

Thanks to So Geek Chic for making sure we get proper training in all our fields

Lightsaber Umbrellas

It's raining again.

That seems to happen a lot in the Spring. It's cold and wet, but it's cleaning the streets of all of Winter's crap, nourishing our gardens and helping to make things grow. I love the rain. I prefer the warmer Summer rains that I can go out and dance in, but all rain is good in my books. I know, I'm weird like that. While I'm loving the rain, most people don't feel the same. As soon as those first few drops start to fall, they run for shelter as if Godzilla himself were on the loose.
The other thing that I love about the rain is umbrellas. Umbrellas use to be boring, unless you were a kid, but these days you can find all sorts of awesome, colourful umbrellas that fit your personality. My umbrella is giant, pink and has red poka-dots on it. Yes, it's that awesome. It is beginning to fall apart after years of use though, so maybe it's time for me to get a new umbrella, something that really makes a statement about who I am....

But where can I find such a thing? The Star Destroyer Umbrella is still in concept...

What's this? Think Geek has something to show me?

This IS the umbrella you've been looking for.

Beyond the Outer Rim, spins a stormy planet. Long, long ago, climate change led to all the continents being submerged - forcing the inhabitants to build cities on stilts. The planet is, of course, known (by the few who know) as Kamino. Apart from always being rainy, it's a place famous for two exports: clones and Star Wars Lightsaber Umbrellas. While we can't sell you any clones (against Republic Law), we sure can sell you the 'brellas!
These Star Wars Lightsaber Umbrellas are just freaking awesome. The hilts have been scaled down a bit, so they are very comfortable to hold. And while the shafts don't light up, they are anodized (and a little sparkly) in the proper blade color. The canopy part even has the saber owner's affiliation insignia (Jedi or Imperial) silk-screened on it. These Star Wars Lightsaber Umbrellas are ready to turn heads while keeping yours dry! If you don't use one of these Star Wars Lightsaber Umbrellas, you will get wet when it rains. And then Vader will sadly bellow, "Nooooooooo!"

Star Wars Lightsaber Umbrellas
  • Each umbrella has a different Lightsaber hilt (slightly scaled down for easier use).
  • While it doesn't light up, each shaft is anodized in the proper color for the saber's blade.
  • Each umbrella part has silk-screened insignia (either Jedi or Imperial) of the corresponding faction of the saber's owner.
  • Choose yer saber:
    • Anakin - blue shaft - Jedi insignia
    • Darth Vader - red shaft - Imperial insignia
    • Obi-Wan - blue shaft - Jedi insignia.
  • Carrying sheath (with shoulder strap) included.
  • Fully licensed Lucasfilm collectible.
  • Dimensions:
    • Canopy Diameter: 47"
    • Total Length: 39"

Oh, Think Geek! I love you so! How did you know that this is exactly what I needed? How do you always know? Now, which one do I want? I've always loved Obi-Wan's lightsaber, but it looks to be the most uncomforable to hold out of all of them. I love the handle and colour of Anakin's, but do I really want Anakin's when I could have Darth Vader's or Obi-Wan's? Darth Vader's is pretty awesome, but I've always been more about the light side of the force than the dark... Oh what to choose...

Which one do you think I should get? And of course, which one is your favorite? Drop me a line and let me know. I do love comments, you know...

Thanks to So Geek Chic who also likes to stay dry and geeky at the same time.

Wrapping Paper Lightsabers

Now, I don't know who Russ is, but he's totally right. I must admit, that I had a pretty epic lightsaber battle this year while wrapping presents. Is it bad that I was by myself? So, do you wait until they're empty or do you purposely go out and buy red, green and blue wrapping paper?

Luke Skywalker Becomes A Jedi Knight

I know this is all over the Internet right now, but I can't help but post it here too!

This is a deleted scene from Return Of The Jedi where Luke Skywalker finishes constructing his very own lightsaber and on ignition becomes a Jedi Knight, while Vader beckons for Luke to come to him!

AWESOME!!

I always thought that it was sad that they never showed how he got his new lightsaber, but I have done a lot of reading up about it, so I knew how it came about. (Thanks Shadow Of The Empire)
It's nice to know that this scene exists.

Man, how cool would it be to be at Celebration V for the unveiling of this? Just another reason why I wish I had had been there.

Star Wars Toys!!!

There's a pretty awesome feeling that I get when I think or talk about Star Wars. I guess I do this a little too much because I'm beginning to be known as "that Star Wars girl" amongst my friends and collogues.
Now don't get me wrong, this isn't a bad thing. Not by a long shot.
This is a great thing! Do you want to know why?

STAR WARS TOYS!!!

Yes, people have started to give me their old Star Wars toys and that, my friend, is AWESOME!!
It all started a few weeks ago when a friend of mine was moving and found his old vintage figures from the early '80s! When he brought them into work for me the following day, I was beyond exstatic!
I've never owned any Star Wars toys before except for a brief brush with a Qui-Gon and Maul Lego set before my then boyfriend stole them from me, so this was a rare treat indeed!
(That's my cat in the background f some of these, and yes, that is Mount Doom at the bottom of the painting. But that's a story for another day)
Check them out!

Look at my kick-ass Driods! R2D2 is my favorite, but the GNK Droid was more than I could ever expect! I just love how they both look like walking garbage cans :D

How about Obi-Wan using the Force to chase off the Tuscan Raider (or Tucan Raider as my SW challanged boyfriend likes to call them)

I sense something; a presence I've not felt since...

Your powers are weak, old man.
You can't win, Darth. If you strike me down, I shall become more powerful than you could possibly imagine.
(Yay! Lightsaber chopsticks! And yes, I know Obi-Wan's should be blue, but I don't have those ones...yet)

This will be a day long remembered. It has seen the end of Kenobi, it will soon see the end of the Rebellion

Wookie/Hammer Head High Five!!
I sort of want to make a hammer-time reference, but I will refrain.

When the Carbonite plan didn't work, Jabba settled for just Han Solo's head on a platter.
yup, that's all of him that we could find.

So after that epic batch of toys, another collogue of mine brought this beauty in for me from his own personal collection!!!

UTINNI!!!
YAY his eyes light up!!!

Now since I was in such a SW toys head space, I heading over to the Silver Snail on the weekend. And what did I find? The Deal of a Century!!

The Ceremonial Princess Leia figure that I've always eyed longingly from a far, marked down from $70 to $10!!!!!! WOOHOO!!

Check out that awesome face sculpt! Isn't she lovely?

Incase you didn't know (because most people don't) I have a bit of an obsession about Barbie and similar type dolls. So when I first found out there were SW dolls out there I wanted them all!
Especially Princess Leia, but also Queen Amidala.
Look what I found for $8!!!

I've never really been a fan of her Escape from Naboo outfit, but I must say that the detailing that went into this doll makes me have an entirely new respect for this costume. It even has the Naboo symbol emblazoned around the bottom of them hem! Don't even get me started on how much I love the headdress and face paint!
*Swoon* I love this doll

Plus, isn't it nice to finally see Mother and Daughter together at last? I think so.

So thank you to all my friends for putting up and encouraging my dorky obsession!
You guys rock!!

Won't You Be My Valentine?

Yup, it's that day again.
The day that commercialism and love has been forcing on us since Christmas was over.
IT'S VALENTINE'S DAY!
And what better way to show your love then sending a Star Wars Valentine's day card!

I tell ya, Star Wars puns are the real way to a woman's heart. Well, at least this woman.
And if you don't think that a piece of card stock is enough to woo your woman, perhaps it's time to really show her you care.

Now that's a real testament of true love!

Star Wars/Adidas Shoes

These are AWESOME! I've heard rumors of these for awhile, but it's nice to know that they are finally available on the market, even if they're being advertised strangly. Was I the only one who thought that commercial was great, but strange?
Anyway, on to the shoes.
Feast your eyes on these little beauties!

AT-AT's anyone?

How about a little Death Star from above?

or from behind? (those TIE's are sneaky)

Maybe you like your sneakers to be good for smuggling?

Or for fighting with the resistance?

Maybe you just like to kick around the swamp?

Well, no matter what you relate to, be it the dark side

Be it big or small within the Empire,

If you're feeling a little rebelious,

Or anything in between,

Just have fun and enjoy these shoes! Get your very own here.

P.S. Personally, I've always felt like a little bit of a Princess (or a sexy slave depending on the day)

(it sucks that that there's no cool adidas picture for these awesome kicks)
