The Girly Side Of Star Wars

Being a Star Wars girl has its ups and downs.
It's sometimes hard to live up to the preconceived notions of what a Star Wars fan should be. I've taken a lot of flack over the years for liking "boy stuff", but I try not to let it bother me. Truth be told, I like a lot of "girly stuff" too.
That's why I love Foreverwars.
Not only does she love Star Wars, Doctor Who and more, she's also an incredible artist. I've been a fan of her art for quite some time now and I'm saving up to buy a bunch of prints and pillows and such from her Society 6 store.

Today I came across a new set of prints that she's put out that mix my love of "boy" and "girl" stuff together!

YAY!!! It's everything I wanted and more!!!
How can you not love that little Gonk girl or want to kick some serious ass for the Adorable Alliance? Death Star Dollies, it sounds like a roller derby team!
You can buy these amazing logos on canvas, phone cases, t-shirts, pillows, bags or cards!
Personally, I want to deck out my couch in awesome pillows, including this one

and I think I need to make the Rebel Alliance bow print my new iPhone case. (or maybe the mando skull... who can choose?)

What about you? What do you think of this amazing art?

May The 4th Be With You

Star Wars Day is here again! YAY!

So, what am I going to do about it?
Well, besides dressing in Star Wars stuff (t-shirt, underwear, socks, hoodie), I'm planning to watch at least one of the movies, plan out some more SW bags or dresses, peruse some SW websites, of course Talk SW to at least a few people, and blog.

I've been saving some Star Wars content for this day for a little while now. Let's start with this awesome deleted scene

I love the tension between the 2 of them.  Man, if Han Solo offered to warm me up, I don't think I could say no!

These next pictures are from an Ad agency, BleuBlachRouge, in Montreal, for a Star Wars exhibit! If I had known (and not been in South Korea) I might have hopped on a bus and gone!

I love how they've build each character! These artists really know what they're doing!

How about some Star Wars statistics?

I love the little Thrawn head in the last one! Also, number of limbs lost! Too funny!

Here are some random Star Wars photos that I've had kicking around and wanting to post.

Remember, the 4th will be with you; always.

Thanks to Rudimentary My Dear, Geek Art, The Mary Sue, and all those great Star Wars Tumblrs. The 4th is strong with you!

A Very Geeky Christmas, One And All

Well, it's that time of year again. The snow is softly falling... well, almost... it actually looks like we're going to have another green Christmas here in Toronto, but who knows. But this season isn't really about the snow, is it?
I came across this note that I had written a few years ago about why I love Christmas, and I thought, dear readers, that I would share it with you now.

I've been asked over and over as of late why it is that I'm so excited for Christmas, well I'll tell you.
Christmas to me isn't about presents. It's not about getting all worked up and angry at trying to maneuver through crowded stores.
To me it's still about good will and peace towards all men. It's about seeing people smile when they hear their favorite Christmas carol or find the perfect gift for the one they love. It's about cookies and pies and sharing the joy of making them with someone special. It's about putting up the tree and looking at all the ornaments, the old, the new, the badly made ones from when we were children or from when we first moved out and couldn't afford any. It's about spending time with the people I love and remembering all the Christmas's prior when we sat around on the kitchen floor and drank hot chocolate. It's about watching our favorite Christmas movies that make you feel good about the world and getting the songs stuck in your head for days. It's about seeing the first snowfall as it covers and ground and makes the whole world look as if it's perfectly untouched. Throwing snowballs and making snowangels.
It's about family and knowing that even though we might not always see eye to eye, that we love each other with all of our hearts and we look forward to spending the holiday together.

So to all of you out there, whether you be friend or family, adoptive family, casual acquaintance or co-worker, enjoy the season of hope and wonder and I wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas from the very bottom of my heart!

Now, of course, this goes out to all you wonderful geek readers out there too!
I just wanted to take the opportunity to thank all of you for all your love and support. I may not blog as often as I want to, but I truly do love it.

So, as a little holiday thanks, here are as many geeky Christmas pictures as I've been able to find over the years! Enjoy!

You said it Supes... you said it.

And remember this Holiday Season; Talk Star Wars to someone... you never know what kinds of friendships can be made ;)
