Tunage Tuesday - Holy Sh*t, You've Got To Vote!

Today is Election day in America and the whole World is scared. Being a Canadian while watching this happen, knowing your hands are tied, is really surreal. I mean, sure, you can voice your opinions on any social media platform that you'd like, but it's hard to know if that will make any difference at all.
But maybe this Celebrity cry out in a "We are the World" type song will manage to somehow get across to Americans how important it is for them to vote today

As you may have noticed by the title, this song is NSFW, but worth watching anyway

Good luck today, America. Don't f*ck it up

Tunage Tuesday - Sherlock Parody by The Hillywood Show

The Hillywood Show is at it again. This time, with the help of Patreon, they've made a new video based on BBC's Sherlock.

We all love this high functioning sociopath, but The Hillywood gang make him even better.
Just see for yourself

Sooo sooooo good!

I love them dancing on the stairs

And the fact that they once again brought back Osric Chau, as Moriarty no less, makes me super happy!

Cat Hospital

Being Canadian, I've ever so thankful for Health Care

and the fact that cat's don't run our hospitals...

Thanks to The Mary Sue who agrees that hospitals would be cuter with cats, but way more unsanitary

Tunage Tuesday - The Hillywood Show

Do you know Hillywood? Well you should. This sister duet has taken the pop culture world by storm. Their parodies are amazing, their sets are amazing, their make-up in amazing and I can't seem to get enough of them.

The Hillywood Show® is the brainchild of internet celebrities, comedy sister duo Hilly & Hannah Hindi. Each parody features song & dance parodies of blockbuster films such as The Hobbit, Harry Potter, and Twilight along with popular TV shows & celebrities such as Doctor Who, The Vampire Diaries & Lady Gaga! Their incredible costumes & makeup would impress even the most seasoned Saturday Night Live cast member! With over 130,000,000 views The Hillywood Show® continues to grow!

it's interesting to see them dressed as themselves for once

I discovered Hillywood back in February and featured their Doctor Who parody and promptly fell in love. These girls are amazing!
but don't just trust me on that, see for yourself

This is their newest parody and it's amazing! Not only do they convey the characters really well and have an amazing song, they managed to get the cast of Supernatural on board!

Supernatural's, Dean Winchester, struggles with the effects of bearing the Mark of Cain. Until Sam and Castiel find a cure, Dean has no other choice but to just "Shake It Off"! The Hillywood Show® brings the SPN Family a parody of epic proportions, that includes, Angels, Demons, Crowley, the Chevy Impala and fan favorite moments from the CW's Supernatural!
Starring, Osric Chau as "Sam", Rob Benedict as "Cain"and special guest cameos from the Cast of Supernatural, including Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki, Misha Collins and more!

Squuuuueeeeee!

As much as I'm super sick of this song, this has got to be the best version I've seen of it! It just makes so much more sense!

Middle-Earth has Frozen over in The Lord Of The Rings: Let it Go Parody by The Hillywood Show®! Follow the hobbits, Frodo Baggins and Samwise Gamgee, on their journey to destroy The One Ring in the fires of Mount Doom. Through the eyes of Samwise the brave, The Hillywood Show® brings you a magical tribute to Peter Jackson's memorable trilogy in an unforgettable, precious way. Once it's taken a hold of you, you'll never want to let it go. This is One Parody to rule them all.

Again, this is another great use of the song! Plus, another awesome cameo by Osric Chau!

You've never seen THE WALKING DEAD like this before! The hit show gets a music video make over in this kick-ass parody by The Hillywood Show®! Leave your stuff and thangs at home and join Rick, center stage, in this Queen-tastic parody of AMC's popular series! Comes complete with slow-mo dance breaks and all the Walkers, guts and gore you can handle.

and last, but of course not least, an awesome Jack Sparrow impression!

Aye, prepare ye self for a hilarious tale of Rum and Romance! The notorious Jack finds himself on an unexpected, musical adventure in which he crosses paths with his one true love. Ye be surprised on who it turns out to be and, when Jack discovers it, nothing, not even Davey Jones' Kraken, will stand in his way. Watch as The Hillywood Show® showcases Johnny Depp's beloved Cap'n Jack in a way you've never seen before! Drink up me hearties, yo ho!

There are a lot more, so go check out their website and watch the rest, you won't be disappointing!

Moves Like Jabba

Who doesn't love a good parody?
How about 2 parodies?
How about 2 parodies of the same thing?

It's not a far reach from Maroon 5's "Moves Like Jagger" to Moves Like Jabba, so I can see why more than one parody came out of it, despite the fact that Mick Jagger and a hermaphroditic slug have very little in common other than in name.

First off, the crazy minds over at MADtv came up with this little gem.

It's a cute little cartoon with lots of fun little cameos. The song itself isn't great, but the animation makes up for it.

This one, on the other hand, is the opposite. The song is much better but the production value is much lower, which is ok, because it's still really fun.

This is from the same guy who brought us Tonight I'm Frakkin You.

here are the lyrics, if you're interested.

[Han Solo]
Oh! He's Jabba the Hut
He's a gangster
90% percent butt
High Blood Pressure
On this pleasure barge, he always lives large
with pig bodyguards

He never wears clothes

Cuz he's baller
He puts on these shows
Girl's wear collars
She danced for a bit
Got dropped in the pit
Now she's rancor sh**
cause he rolls like this

Lick you with his tongue
On the trap door
Don't get it on your face
He has cold sores

Move like Jabba

I'm eating food like Jabba
Wish I could mooooooove... like Jabba

No Jedi mind tricks can control him

The force bounces off his double chin

With them moves like Jabba

He's got big boobs like Jabba
I gotta moooooooove... like Jabba

[Slave Lea]

My little bro, is a jedi knight
and you got my man stuck in carbonite
So fat and greedy
Prolly got diabetes
Like Willfred Brimly

So eat them frogs

Cuz this won't end nice
Grab this chain, ooh Jabba, take your life

You put me in this slave outfit
My little bro will see this
Can't believe we kissed
Ohhhhhh oh oh!
I think he liked it

[Han Solo]

His big slimy tongue
will seduce you
laugh like Salacious Crumb
when he shows you

All these moves like Jabba

I'm getting nude like Jabba
I gotta mooooooove... like Jabba

Goes to Space Buffets and eats it all

That's why he's got really high Cholesterol

With the moves like Jabba

We've got the moves like Jabba
I've got the moooooooves... like Jabba

Oh and incase you have no idea what any of this is parodying, here is the original video by Maroon 5

Thanks to Geeks With Curves for showing us the right way to move.

The Star Wars That I Use To Know

Oh Prequels, why do you get such a bad rap?

Sure, the scripting wasn't great and it's hard to make bad wording look good on screen, but it's not all bad, right? I know it's not the original trilogy, but cut it some slack. They brought an entire new generation of kids into the Star Wars fold and I think that's important.
Even I was brought into the Star Wars Universe during the Prequels, so I admit, I have a soft spot for them.

Don't get me wrong, they're no original trilogy, but I do feel that they have their place in the EU.

The guys at teddiefilms.com do not agree with me though. They disagree so much that they parodied a song about it.

Yes, parodies are all the rage these days and I will post as many as I like :P
Don't worry, I'm trying to only post the good ones.

So, what do you think about the Prequels? Do you like them? Do you watch them? Do you hate me know for admitting that I do?

Hunger Game Music And Parodies

Who's excited about The Hunger Games? Me! Me!
Also, my best friend Jocey. She thinks that March 23rd is much too far away and that she might have to re-read the series again before then. I totally can't blame her, because I was thinking about doing the exact same thing.

In the mean time, I though I would help tie us over with some parodies, musical or otherwise. Just keep in mind that if you haven't read the books yet, they might be a bit spoily.

First off we have Holly Laurent with a parody song of Lana Del Ray's Video Games.

I do seem to love the parodies of this song. They're just fantastic. Not to mention extremely clever.

This next one is based on the Bruno Mars song Grenade.

TIME TO GO
GRAB MY BOW
12 IS WHERE I LIVE (COAL)

GAYLES HERE

KILL A DEER
SELL IT AT THE HOB

DIDN'T KNOW THERE WAS TROUBLE

IN THE OTHER DISTRICTS
LIFE WAS ALMOST EASY
BEFORE THE REAPING

EFFIE READ THE NAME IT WAS

PRIMROSE EVERDEEN
PRIMROSE EVERDEEN, SHE READ
NO WAY MY LITTLE SISTER
WILL EVER BE A TRIBUTE
PRIM, YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE SCARED

CAUSE I'LL PLAY THE HUNGER GAMES FOR YA

I'LL TAKE TRACKER JACKER STINGS FOR YA
SHOW PANEM HOW MUCH I LOVE PEETA
I'LL FOOL SENECA CRANE FOR YA
I WOULD GO THROUGH ALL THIS PAIN
I WOULD EVEN BE THE MOCKING JAY
YES I WOULD DIE FOR YOU PRIM
IN THE HUNGER GAMES

CAP CAP CAPITOL

PEOPLE HERE ARE DUMB
NO ONES NOTICED PRESIDENT SNOW
SMELLS LIKE HE'S BEEN DRINKING BLOOD.

SOUND CANNON, LOUD CANNON

ONE MORE PERSON GONE
NOW IF ONLY THE CAREERS
WOULD SHARE THE CORNUCOPIA

SINGING FOR RUE'S DEATH

IS WHAT SAVED MY LIFE FROM THRESH
OH IT SAVED MY LIFE FROM THRESH YES IT DID
WE THOUGHT TWO COULD SURVIVE
HAD TO THREATEN SUICIDE
BECAUSE THE GAMEMAKERS LIED

YA I'LL PLAY THE HUNGER GAMES FOR YA

KILL MUTTATIONS THEY CREATE FOR YA
SHOW PANEM HOW MUCH I LOVE PEETA
TRY NOT TO DIE IN THE ARENA
I'LL EAT LAMB STEW IN THE RAIN
I WILL EVEN BE THE MOCKING JAY
ILL VOLUNTEER FOR YOU PRIM
IN THE HUNGER GAMES

YA I'M THE GIRL ON FIRE

IN THIS GOWN CINNA MADE
SAID I LOVED PEETA I'M A LIAR
CAUSE I ONLY WANTED SPONSORSHIPS
HAYMITCH

YEAH PRIM I VOLUNTEER IN THE GAMES FOR YA

I'LL TAKE TRACKER JACKER STINGS FOR YA
SHOW PANEM HOW MUCH I LOVE PEETA
FOOL SENECA CRANE FOR YA OHHHH
I WOULD GO THROUGH ALL THIS PAIN
I WILL EVEN BE THE MOCKING JAY
YES I WOULD DIE FOR YOU PRIM
DIE IN THE HUNGER GAMES

IN THE HUNGER GAMES

I'LL PLAY THE HUNGER GAMES
 - Lyrics and download

I love it!! It's just written so cleverly!

Lastly, but not least is a hilarious take on what might have happened when Gale came to say goodbye to Katniss by The Second City. He's just trying to help... right?

I want you so bad... to focus on hating the Capital... Booo Capital...

Poor Gale, stuck in the friend zone forever. Well, whatever, it's not like anyone can compete with the boy with the bread. At least not to me anyway.
Well, maybe Finnick. Is it just me or does he remind anyone else of Aquaman?

Sorry, I guess I'm skipping ahead a book.

There are a lot of great parodies out there as well as a lot of really bad ones as well, but the one thing they do have in common is that they all really love The Hunger Games.

Thanks to The Mary Sue for the videos and Rat Girl Studios, Mary-Chan, and Bleunite for the amazing fan art.

Princess Peach and Hermione Sing

Oh Geek Music! Can we even get enough? I know I can't, and since this is my blog, I get to subject you to it too! YAY!!

Today we feature Jenny Bede.

Writer, actor and comedian, she's put together some great geeky parodies for us.
First off, we'll start with Video Games.

Certainly, you've heard Lana Del Ray's song Video Games. If not, check it out here before watching this video.

If I hadn't seen the other video, I wouldn't have gotten why she was acting so weird in it. Her lip syncing was driving me crazy until I realized that she was just making fun of Lana Del Ray. It's a cute parody though, and Jenny Bede has an amazing voice.

Here is another great one by her, featuring none other than Harry Potter and Hermione (and a crazy looking Ron)

I think the character of Harry Potter is much like Peter Pan; he can be convincingly played by a woman. I doubt the golden trio agree with this song. I'm sure they've had enough of the franchise to last them a life time. It still makes me laugh though.

Hopefully Jenny Bede will continue to make awesome geek parodies for me to feature in the future.

Thanks to The Mary Sue for being totally amazing (and worth checking out)

Avenger Time

Love the Avengers? Love Adventure Time? Love a good crossover?
Well, so does Mad TV!
Introducing Avenger Time!!

That was awesome, wasn't it? I think the guys at MAD TV did a great job. Here are a few fun facts that they had about this cartoon.

  • This segment has the same name as the T-shirt containing Jake and Finn in Avenger costumes.
  • (you can buy it here)
  • However in the picture, Jake is Iron Man instead of Hulk. So this could be an inspiraton for MAD to create this segment.
  • The Avenger crew turned mostly like this:
1. Captain America as Finn
2. Hulk as Jake
3. Iron Man as Lumpy Space Princess (LSP)
4. Thor as Muscle Princess (possibly)
  • Finn and Jake mostly turned like this:
1. Finn as a super powered Batman
2. Jake as the Thing
  • Other Dimensions included were:
1. The Avengers Dimension
2. The Marvel Super Heroes (1960's)
3. Super Hero Squad Show
4. Adventure Time Dimension
  • Red Skull had two bandages on his forehead.
  • The title of Avenger Time looked similar to Adventure Time.
  • The Ice King in this segment almost sounded similar to the Ice King in Adventure Time, because he is voiced by Tom Kenny, but the Ice King looks different.
  • When Ice King freezes Captain America in a block of ice, Iron Man remarks that he cannot stop getting frozen, but this is actually a reference to when Captain America gets frozen in a block of ice during World War II and gets unfrozen during the 21st century.
  • The scene where Captain America meets the Watcher on the moon is a reference to the pilot episode of Adventure Time, where Finn meets Abraham Lincoln on Mars after the Ice King froze him.
  • The Watcher's voice seems similar to Gazpacho, Master Shake and Mr. Baldwin from Chowder, Aqua Teen Hunger Force and Fish Hooks respectively, because they are voiced by Dana Synder.
  • Captain America's voice is similar to Chris Griffin from Family Guy.
  • Antagonists: Red Skull and Ice King
  • Second time Adventure Time gets spoofed. The first time was from Malcolm in the Middle Earth.

I've never actually seen Adventure Time, but I hear it's amazing and I really do want to watch it.
Speaking of The Avengers, have you guys seen the new Trailer yet?

YAY! It looks so great! I can't wait to see it! I do hope that they actually let Hawkeye speak at some point. So far he's gotten the shaft in all the trailers.

Thanks to Look At This Frakking Geekster and I Watch Stuff for these awesome videos

Alien Beach Crashers

You remember Team Unicorn, right?
4 sexy, geeky girls?
Of course you do, who could forget G33k & G4m3r Girls, A Very Zombie Holiday or Super Harmony?

They, like us, seem to be wishing for those blissful summer months that seem so far away from this dreary winter. They dream of surf, sand, dancing, romance and alien invasion... wait...what?

There are so many things that I love about this video

1. Zachery Levi
2. Zachery Levi in short shorts
3. The book that Michelle Boyd is reading is called The Art Of Being A Unicorn
4. The lyrics to the songs are awesome
5. You can actually purchase the album on iTunes
6. The making of video with close ups of Zachery Levi's short shorts

I hereby profess my love to you Team Unicorn!

While I was doing some research on this, I discovered that the Unicorn's now have an actual website and not just a youtube page (which was all they had the last time I checked)
I was very excited that you can watch all their videos, read their extremely geeky bios, by merchandise (I want everything) and join what they call the UniCorps!

Yup, you better believe I joined the UniCorps

That's right, +10 to Awesome!

Thanks Team Unicorn, for making me +10 more Awesome than I already was!

Video Game Raps

I've featured geeky raps on here before, but these ones by hiimrawn are just crazy! The costumes are great, they lyrics are surprisingly clever and I can't seem to get them out of my head.

Here is "I'm Questing,"my personal favorite. The cameos by Navi and Sheik are my favorites. This Navi puts that other one to shame!

Next is the "Pokemon Gangster Rap" with awesome cameos by Misty and Brock. I also really like the Pikachu Robe for some odd reason.

Lastly, here is "Do The Mario" I love Luigi, Toad and Yoshi in this. It puts Mario in a whole new light.

Thanks to Geekologie for his love of crazy, geek rap!

Captain Planet Wants You To Be Green... Or Else...

Captain Planet, he's our hero,
Gonna take pollution down to zero,
He's our powers magnified,
And he's fighting on the planet side
That's right, the planet's side... not humans

Oh, Don Cheadle... You make the best Captain Planet ever! If you had played Captain Planet when I was younger, I would've been a life long fan

Thanks to Fashionably Geek for making me want to be more green.

Awesome Geeky T-shirts

Much to most of my friends and family's dismay, I love graphic t-shirts. I don't usually get to wear them during the week, due to work, but as soon as the weekend hits, I'm all about showing my geek.
I'm always on the look out for great t-shirts but have had a lot of trouble in the past finding ones. Well, since I have started shopping online, I've found many great shirts that I would just love to add to my collection.

This is the shirt that I just got in the mail as of yesterday.

Statler and Waldorf are two of my favorite Muppets, so when I found them on a shirt, I just couldn't resist ordering it. You can get your own here at BustedTees

While perusing this morning, I came across a great site called Fashionably Geek. It's an entire site dedicated to awesomely geeky clothes and accessories. Already I've found some really great links to t-shirts that I totally want.
Like this Star Wars/Calvin & Hobbs shirt from Red Bubble

It comes in a variety of colours as well. I can't decide which colour I want, so maybe I'll have to get it in numerous colours ;)

I love the t-shirts that show up on TeeFury, but I hate that I never have money when the ones that I like show up, or I find out about them after they're already done. Like this beauty that proves that sci-fi geeks like me can have the best of both worlds.

To Boldly Go Where No Star Wars Nerd Has Gone Before!

This last one I just find hilarious! I really love melding my geekery and this is no exception.

Etsy seller sandsink offers a great many fun t-shirts, so be sure to check them out here.

Do you have any fun t-shirts? Which is your favorite?

Star Wars Swimsuits!

I always hoped this day would come. For years I have been dreaming about Star Wars swimsuits. I mean who could resist an actual Slave Leia Bikini? One of these days, I will probably just end up making my own. But in the mean time, check out these AWESOME suits from Black Milk.

I want an R2-D2 suit! I would just swim around and make all sorts of beeping noises. I kinda want this for Halloween too. I'd wear white leggings and dye my hair silver and blue.
*mind spinning*
hmmm.... I wonder if I could get this in time for Halloween?

This Darth Side Of The Moon one is pretty awesome too. (I don't think that's what it's actually called, but I think that sounds better) I'm not overly keen on how shiny it seems to be though.

I know this last one technically isn't Star Wars, but let's pretend it is and call it Darth Getting Force Lightninged. Yeah, that works.

There are lots of neat suits and leggings on this site that I totally want. You should go check it out! Then leave a comment and tell me which one you would buy. I'd love to know.
Thanks to Distracted By Star Wars for bringing this to my attention
