Their incredible costumes & makeup would impress even the most seasoned Saturday Night Live cast member! With over 130,000,000 views The Hillywood Show® continues to grow!

it's interesting to see them dressed as themselves for once

I discovered Hillywood back in February and featured their Doctor Who parody and promptly fell in love. These girls are amazing!
but don't just trust me on that, see for yourself

This is their newest parody and it's amazing! Not only do they convey the characters really well and have an amazing song, they managed to get the cast of Supernatural on board!

Supernatural's, Dean Winchester, struggles with the effects of bearing the Mark of Cain. Until Sam and Castiel find a cure, Dean has no other choice but to just "Shake It Off"! The Hillywood Show® brings the SPN Family a parody of epic proportions, that includes, Angels, Demons, Crowley, the Chevy Impala and fan favorite moments from the CW's Supernatural!
Starring, Osric Chau as "Sam", Rob Benedict as "Cain"and special guest cameos from the Cast of Supernatural, including Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki, Misha Collins and more!

Squuuuueeeeee!

As much as I'm super sick of this song, this has got to be the best version I've seen of it! It just makes so much more sense!

Middle-Earth has Frozen over in The Lord Of The Rings: Let it Go Parody by The Hillywood Show®! Follow the hobbits, Frodo Baggins and Samwise Gamgee, on their journey to destroy The One Ring in the fires of Mount Doom. Through the eyes of Samwise the brave, The Hillywood Show® brings you a magical tribute to Peter Jackson's memorable trilogy in an unforgettable, precious way. Once it's taken a hold of you, you'll never want to let it go. This is One Parody to rule them all.

Again, this is another great use of the song! Plus, another awesome cameo by Osric Chau!

You've never seen THE WALKING DEAD like this before! The hit show gets a music video make over in this kick-ass parody by The Hillywood Show®! Leave your stuff and thangs at home and join Rick, center stage, in this Queen-tastic parody of AMC's popular series! Comes complete with slow-mo dance breaks and all the Walkers, guts and gore you can handle.

and last, but of course not least, an awesome Jack Sparrow impression!

Aye, prepare ye self for a hilarious tale of Rum and Romance! The notorious Jack finds himself on an unexpected, musical adventure in which he crosses paths with his one true love. Ye be surprised on who it turns out to be and, when Jack discovers it, nothing, not even Davey Jones' Kraken, will stand in his way. Happy Geek Patrick's Day (and Pi Day)

Today is the day, isn't it?
Today is St. Paddy's day and the day we all pretend to be Irish.
I may only be adopted Irish, but I am a geek, so today I felt the need to combine the two together.

So here are all the Geeky St. Patrick's day pictures I could find!

Irish... Elvish... it's close enough

But for real, to all those out there who are genuinely celebrating today, I wish you all the best.
And to those out there who just want to get drunk on green beer, have a blast, but remember to be safe

aaaand since I totally forgot about Pi Day on the weekend, here are some cutie pictures that I've been saving for just such a sweet occasion

Awesome, Weird & Amazing Book Videos

There have been a few profound book series in my life that I would use to define myself as a reader. Books that I've picked up over and over again and reread.
Books that made me want to be a reader, a writer, an adventurer.
Books that have changed my life.

I'm talking about 3 series in particular; The Lord of the Rings, The Wheel of Time, and Harry Potter

I'm going to start with The Lord of the Rings, as it was the first series that I ever read and was the main reason that I got into the fantasy genre.
I didn't think anything could ever be as good as it was. I read The Hobbit (or had it read to me) first, then The Rings, but I never picked up The Silmarillion, so I always felt that there were some things that I never quite understood. That is until I watched these videos by CGP Grey

Oh, okay. That cleared things up pretty well.
Who knew? (probably Stephen Colbert)

Thinking nothing could top The Lord of the Rings, I got into a debate with a friend in high school about it and he disagreed with me, claiming The Wheel of Time was better. I didn't believe him.

I was wrong.
Tolkien may have been the father of fantasy, but Robert Jordan blew him out of the water. WOT to this day is still my favorite book series. In fact, I'm rereading them for the 3rd time. (Although I read all the chapter summaries over and over again every time a new book was released from 10 on, so really I've kind of read them more than that)
It seems I'm not the only fan of WOT though. Billy Zane seems to be as well. He recently produced a pilot for a WOT TV show that aired on some channel called FXX

The first episode is called Winter Dragon and it is hilariously awful! If you've read Eye of the World, you will recognize this as the prologue, where Lews Therin Telamon and Ishamael (played by Zane) talk about the beginning of the Breaking of the World. Yes, this is the defining moment where Lew Therin goes crazy and creates Dragonmount.... or at least that's what's suppose to happen...
Where is Dragonmount, Billy Zane? How can the Dragon be reborn on it's slopes if you don't go crazy and start blowing things up?
Oh right... adaptation... an unauthorized one at that.

“This morning brought startling news. A “pilot” for a Wheel of Time series, the “pilot” being called Winter Dragon, had appeared at 1:30 in the morning, East Coast time, on FXX TV, a channel somewhere in the 700s (founded to concentrate on comedy, according to the Washington Post).
It was made without my knowledge or cooperation. I never saw the script. No one associated with Bandersnatch Group, the successor-in-interest to James O. Rigney, was aware of this.
Bandersnatch has an existing contract with Universal Pictures that grants television rights to them until this Wednesday, February 11 – at which point these rights revert to Bandersnatch.
I see no mention of Universal in the “pilot”. Nor, I repeat, was Bandersnatch, or Robert Jordan’s estate, informed of this in any way.
I am dumbfounded by this occurrence, and am taking steps to prevent its reoccurrence.” - Harriet McDougal Rigney

In the back of my mind, I always hoped that they would make a WOT TV show and when Game of Thrones was actually done well, my hopes got a bit higher. But this is laughable.

I know, not all adaptations are done well and even if they are, fans will always find fault in them. Just look at Harry Potter.

When Harry Potter first became popular I thought it was stupid. I know, I know. I jumped on the bandwagon with all the haters without knowing anything other than the fans seemed annoying. My mother borrowed the first couple of books from the neighbor's kid and read them. When I voiced my opinion on it, she handed me Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone and told me only when I had read it was I allowed to have an opinion on it. I picked it up hoping to hate it just to prove her wrong and ended up falling in love with the series. It's sort of how I felt about Severus Snape through the books.

oh how my heart breaks....

I love you Alan Rickman...

Books are wonderful things that take us on awesome, silly, strange and amazing adventures.
Thank goodness for books

Geeky Temporary Tattoos

This is my 400th post!!! Woo Hoo! Go me!
and to celebrate. I'm going to talk about something I love!
Tattoos!

I love tattoos, but damn do they hurt.
I have 4 as it is already.
My 2 bees that make up my chest piece, my star on the small of my back and my rebel alliance tattoo on my left hip.

beeeeeeees.....
But I want more.... oh so many more.....

I'm always trying to decide what I want next and its hard to choose.
Do I get my half-sleeve done or do I go the Sailor Jupiter Wand on my thigh?

or

Do I go for the Chakras down my spine or Princess Peach on my other thigh?

or

It would be nice to try them out for awhile and see how I feel before committing them to my body forever.

For others who are undecicive like me, or just don't want to commit to forever, these totally geeky, totally temportary tattoos from Seventh Skin are for you.

Lord Of The Rings

Harry Potter

A Song Of Ice And Fire (Game of Thrones)

Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass

The Little Mermaid

Aladdin

Beauty and the Beast

Corpse Bride

The Addams Family

Assassin's Creed

Oh now I want soooo many more tattoos...
Maybe the White Queen chest piece or The Little Mermaid chest piece. I do like the elvish script too.... so hard to choose.

At least if I try these out, it won't hurt my pocket book as much as a real tattoo. These babies run from $3-20 which is super reasonable if you ask me.

So which ones do you want?
