DC Bombshells

I've always wanted to be a Pin-up Girl. I love the art, the poses, the clothes... everything.
I especially love when pin-up culture gets mixed with my fandoms.

Check out this amazing new prints (which are now up for preorder) that are surprisingly licensed by DC comics

These are all gorgeous! The Black Canary one is my favourite, followed closely by Poison Ivy.
Hot Topic has already started making use of these new pictures on products like body spray and t-shirts. I actually own the Wonder Woman, Harley Quinn and Supergirl sprays. I could care less about the smell. I bought them for the art well before I ever knew I could buy them as prints.

I'm kinda hoping that these lovely ladies will soon be popping up as tattoos. I think they would make really awesome ones.

So what do you think? Are you happy with this new pin-up line?

More Star Wars Pin-ups

I love Pin-ups. It's been one of the goals in my life to be one. I would especially love to be a geek pin-up and even more specifically, a Star Wars pin-up.
Art like this from Timothy Lim, gives me hope that people would actually be into this!

I really love the rebel alliance pin-up. It reminds me of some awesome pictures I saw of Katie Cook's

I'm going to have to do this for a con or Halloween before it becomes too mainstream and every girl is doing it!

Anyway, you can buy prints of shirts of the top 2 pin-ups over at redbubble.
and thanks to Tiefighters for loving sexy Star Wars chicks

8-Bit Stockings

These, like the Princess Leia stockings, made both my geeky and pin-up sides very, very happy.
So far I've not found out if these are for sale anywhere, but if they are, boy, do I ever want a pair!

So tell me, would you wear them or want a girl to wear them for you?
Do you think Princess Peach wears these under her dress?

Thanks to Geekologie for getting this geek girl excited!

You're Such A Doll

Hello my fellow geeksters.
I know, I know, it's been awhile. I had some major problems with my computer and had to reformat the entire thing, thus losing all the wonderfully geeky things I had lined up for this blog. It might be a little slow with the postings as I try and find new and exciting things to post about.
But in the mean time I thought we'd have a little fun. Or at least I would.
Ever wonder what you'd look like as a Sailor Scout? Or maybe as a Hogwarts student? How about an adventurer? I know I certainly have.

Enter Doll Divine
Roll your eyes now if you must, but I love sites like this. I can (and do) spend hours playing on these sites. Last night was such a night.

It all started off with Sailor Moon.
In high school, I created my own Sailor Moon Character called Sailor Sun. Yup, she was me as a Sailor Scout. So when I came across a Sailor Moon Doll Creator, I just had to make Sailor Sun.

Well, after that I just got carried away...

I made Ron and I into Hogwarts students. He's in Hufflepuff and I'm in Gryffindor. Yup, those are actually our cats Rina and Lynx.

I've always loved Lara Croft, I even went to work as her for Halloween one year. This was my chance to be my own adventurer, Braeby Croft. Yeah, I would totally wear shorts and a coat in the snow. I'm like that. :P

I've always wanted to be a pin-up girl. I love the clothes and the culture and have many of my own pictures. I even have my own alter ego, Ruby.

Ever wanted to be a Disney Princess? YES! Ever since I was old enough the remember I wanted to be a Disney Princess. Hell, I still want to be a Disney Princess. Check out my cotton candy dress!

Steampunk seems to be the new big thing these days. A few years ago my friend and I were going to join the Toronto Steampunk Society, but never got around to actually making costumes. This game makes it a lot easier.

I've never been one to wish that I was anything but human (except maybe a cat or a unicorn) but this Avatar creator was just too fun to pass up.

This last one is a little different. It was for a 4 Elements creator.  This was Earth. The funny thing about it is that I actually own and wear this outfit. It's one of my pin-up outfits. Mind you I usually wear 6 inch red patten leather, open-toed heels with it.

So out of all the games, this one actually looks the most like me.

which one looks the most like you?

The BD-3000

The BD-3000 luxury droid, better known in the the Star Wars Universe at The Bettybot, was originally created to look like the late Betty Page.
How awesome is that? As a girl who loves both Star Wars and the Pin-up culture, I was thrilled to see that these two concepts were being intertwined.
This is what StarWars.com had to say about the matter:

During principal photography in Sydney, writer-director George Lucas decided that Bail Organa would be served by a sexy female-shaped attendant droid during scenes set in his office. From this direction, Animation Supervisor Rob Coleman contacted the Art Department at Skywalker Ranch to request concept designs for this new animated character. On set when shooting the Bail Organa office scene, a female stand-in wearing bluescreen material played the droid.
Lucas' directives described the droid as the automated equivalent of Bettie Page, and the droid design quickly earned the nickname "Bettybot." Though the scenes of Bail's offices were ultimately cut from the film, the droid was nonetheless designed and modeled as a CG character. Renamed the BD-3000 droid, it can be seen briefly during the Senate landing platform scenes and the Galaxies Opera House scene.

Too bad for Bail Organa. He probably enjoyed having the sexy bot around. But then again, the SWU has a tendency to take things too far. This may be one of those times.

In addition to its business administration programming, the standard BD-3000 comes equipped to handle over 25 secondary functions, including repulsorlift pilot, cook, tailor and nanny. Expansion slots in both hardware and software allow the BD-3000 to be fitted with combat applications, and some have been known to be reprogrammed as covert bodyguard droids, though LeisureMech does not support such modifications.
Much to the chagrin of LeisureMech publicists, BD-3000 droids have also proven popular in the criminal underworld, where unlicensed aftermarket add-ons -- such as a set of fully articulated lekku -- have seen the droids flourish in far seedier roles than originally intended.

Creepy.... but still cool none the less.
I may just have to go back and re-watch Episode III and see if I can spot her.
