Yeah, that kind of sums up what being a geek is all about. We find things that we love; movies, TV-shows, books from our pasts, and we reminisce about why we love it. We have all sorts of mediums in which we can do this; reading or writing blogs about it, writing fanficton, cosplaying, going to conventions, or in this case, fanart.

  Patrick Ballesteros brings us nostalgia in two different ways in his art collection entitled Nostalgia

Not only does he make us feel nostalgic with pop culture references, but also with the innocence and imagination of childhood.

Tiny weeping angels are perhaps more terrifying than full grown ones. I'm more nostalgic for the 10th Doctor, but 11 had some good moments too. I'm sure in years to come, I'll remember him fondly, too.

Harry Potter nostalgia is already pretty prevalent, but taking them back to a much younger age gives it new meaning.

Sidewalk chalk was always fun. Heck, it's still fun! I wouldn't be surprised to learn that Spielberg and Lucas use to draw all kinds of crazy pictures on the sidewalk. I like the cute little nods to them; Lucas with the whip and Droids and Spielberg with his shark, UFO and dinosaur.

Marvel Messenger Bags

So many schools and companies have their logos mass produced on bags and other merchandise these days. It's hard not to notice if someone went to MIT or works for Apple. Are you feeling left out that your school/job isn't as cool as someone else? Well, make them jealous when they see you carting these totes.

How cool would it actually be to work at Stark Industries? I bet they recruit right out of Xavier's School. I always thought it would be awesome to be a young mutant and go to school with other mutants. I always wanted to be just like Jean Grey... 

well, until she took on the Phoenix and went crazy and died and came back to life and then died again and then came back to life... and so on and so on... I'm totally behind on my X-Men, because I didn't even know that they had opened a school in Jean's name and that Logan was Headmaster! I was never much of a Wolverine fan, but his love and devotion to Jean always melted my heart. Although Cyclops had some redeeming qualities, I always thought Jean was with the wrong man. But that's just me.

These Are The Geek Corsets You're Looking For

I love Corsets. I'm not really sure why exactly, but something about squeezing myself into a tiny piece of material that's been re-enforced with what should be whale bone and have it pulled so tight I think I might be sick is actually my idea of a good thing.

So when I first discovered that there were geeky corsets out there, I was ecstatic!

I mean, what self respecting geek girl wouldn't want to be constricted AND pretend to be a sexy Darth Vader or a Stormtrooper at the same time?

I know I would! And apparently this girl did too!

Evening Awen gives us that opportunity. I must say that I really love all her corsets and costumes, including the Star Trek ones.

Yes, I'm allowed to like Star Wars AND Star Trek...

Apparently she had it custom made. It makes me want to order my own, or at least work on my sewing skills. If I could sew, I would be making all sorts of corsets and dresses for myself. Like these awesome Star Wars dresses from The Vintage Doctor.
