Creepy Baby Joker Doll

I'll admit it, I like dolls. I'm a collector of Barbies and Star Wars dolls as well as awesome action figures. But even for me, this crosses the line.

Introducing the WORLD BOX 1/6 Scale Lakor Baby aka The Creepy Joker Baby

Look, it even comes with a regular head in case you get so creeped out that you can no longer stand to have it stare at you with it's creepy evil baby eyes!

Seriously though (Why so serious? says creepy baby) Who the hell would want this thing? I expect that it would come alive at night and kill me in my sleep. I'd be awake all night waiting to hear it's evil baby laugh...

Yup, that's the one... the one that will bring your doom!

Well, if you do decide that it's worth the sleepless nights due to baby killer nightmares here's a link to the project page. And if even seeing pictures of this thing gives you nightmares, well you came blame Geekology for that.

Calvin And Hobbes Snowman House Of Horror

It's my 200th Post!! YAY!!

And to celebrate, we're going to look at Calvin and Hobbes' snowmen!!

I've been a fan of Calvin and Hobbes for most of my life. I've read all of the comics over and over from beginning to end. Out of all the comics, my favorites are still the Snowmen that Calvin makes on his front yard.
It's been a very green winter here in Toronto, with very little snow at all. This suits me just fine most of the time, but ever once and a while I get a hankering to make my own set of Calvin-esq snowmen. Somehow I don't think Ron would be too pleased to come home to anything of the sort, though.

But since I'm in the mood, here are some of my favorite comics. Found here if you want to see more of them

Have you smiled enough? Thanks to Geekology for the snowman video

Disney Magazines For Men And Women

Do you ever wonder what it's like to live in the World of Happily Ever After? Not don't get me wrong, I mean what would it be like if you were you, but instead of reading about Will and Kate in the tabloids, you would be reading about Cinderella and Charming, or Aurora and Philip.

What would it be like to see them on the cover of a magazine? Petite Tiara wonders about these things too.

I would totally read all of these if they were real or not! How about you, which magazine would you buy in line at the grocery store?

Mortal Kombat Flash Dance

Who doesn't love Mortal Kombat? They've always been awesome games, and bad movies that are fun to laugh at and had great music. With all those fighting moves, it's easy to see how it could be transformed into dance moves. Oh hell, I love it when geeky things get turned into bad dances!

And as if that's not enough, they came back and made another one!

I gotta say, I'm a little surprised that no one got punched out. Although I enjoy the dancing, I feel bad for the people who really didn't want anything to do with them. They should really leave those people alone. I also feel sorry for the store owners.

What do you think? Would you join their flash dance mob or do you prefer to watch from the sidelines?

DC Comics Updates Their Logo

I guess there comes a time in any companies life where they feel their brand is getting stagnant. It's been such a year for DC Comics. Not only did they reinvent the new 52, but now they have once again updated their logo as well.

It isn't the first time that DC has revamped themselves to adjust with the times. The original logo just wouldn't work with today's group of comic lovers.

“It’s a new era at DC Entertainment and the new look reflects a dynamic, bold approach while at the same time celebrates the company’s rich heritage and robust portfolio of characters,” stated John Rood, EVP of Sales, Marketing and Business Development for DC Entertainment. “It was just a few months ago that Superman, Batman and many of our other Super Heroes were updated when we launched DC Comics – The New 52 and now it’s time to do the same for the company’s identity while remaining true to the power of storytelling which is still at the heart of DC Entertainment.”
DC Entertainment worked with Landor Associates, one of the world’s leading brand consulting and design firms, to develop an identity that creates a visual connection among the company, its three brands DC Comics, Vertigo and MAD and its vast array of properties as well as celebrates the power of the company’s stories and characters.  The design of the new DC Entertainment identity uses a “peel” effect – the D is strategically placed over the C with the upper right-hand portion of the D peeling back to unveil the hidden C – symbolizing the duality of the iconic characters that are present within DC Entertainment’s portfolio.
“It was our goal to capture DC Entertainment in a dynamic and provocative identity.  Our solution is a living expression which changes and adapts to the characters, story lines and the ways fans are consuming content,” explains Nicolas Aparicio, Executive Creative Director at Landor’s San Francisco office.  “The new identity is built for the digital age, and can easily be animated and customized to take full advantage of the interactivity offered across all media platforms.” - The Source

On first inspection, I really didn't like the new logo at all, but the more I see it, the more I get it and the more I actually like it. Will it ever take the place of the old logo? Maybe, I suppose it's too early to tell at this point. If anything, it'll take some getting use to.
