Calvin And Hobbs Take On Comic Books

Who doesn't love Calvin and Hobbs?

When I see Calvin and Hobbs I think of my childhood and the awesome imagination that comes with it. Anything and Everything was real and you could make anything you wanted happen.

Calvin is the perfect example of this.

So what would happen if Calvin was more into comics?

Well... you get this

Yes, the plot of Spiderman really does seem like a story told by children, doesn't it? Guess that's kind of what makes it awesome.

Chainsaw Batman and Tyranno-Shark!!! YES!!!!!

We totally need more of this! We need an entire comic of this!!

But since there isn't one (other than the original) you should check out It's a Good Life, a web comic by Ninjaink, who drew these fantastic comics.

Thanks to Nerd Approved for approving of Chainsaw Batman, but then again, who wouldn't approve?

Hobbes And Bacon - A New Generation Of Calvin And Hobbes

Calvin and Hobbes... I truly believe that they are essential to growing up. Not only do you have a kid and his stuffed tiger reeking havoc in ways that I wish I could've as a child, but also you have the language of grown-ups. Calvin's imagination has inspired me to keep on believing as I get older.

I'm certainly not the only person that this comic has inspired. Pants Are Overrated decided to make some of their own Calvin and Hobbes comics, but with a bit of a twist.

Meet Bacon, the daughter of Calvin and Susie

Doesn't it just make you tear up a little bit? I know I did. The thought of a whole new generation of childhood wonder and love is a beautiful thing.

Thanks Pants Are Overrated, you did good.

Calvin And Hobbes Snowman House Of Horror

It's my 200th Post!! YAY!!

And to celebrate, we're going to look at Calvin and Hobbes' snowmen!!

I've been a fan of Calvin and Hobbes for most of my life. I've read all of the comics over and over from beginning to end. Out of all the comics, my favorites are still the Snowmen that Calvin makes on his front yard.

It's been a very green winter here in Toronto, with very little snow at all. This suits me just fine most of the time, but ever once and a while I get a hankering to make my own set of Calvin-esq snowmen. Somehow I don't think Ron would be too pleased to come home to anything of the sort, though.

But since I'm in the mood, here are some of my favorite comics. Found here if you want to see more of them

Have you smiled enough? Thanks to Geekology for the snowman video

Awesome Geeky T-shirts

Much to most of my friends and family's dismay, I love graphic t-shirts. I don't usually get to wear them during the week, due to work, but as soon as the weekend hits, I'm all about showing my geek.

I'm always on the look out for great t-shirts but have had a lot of trouble in the past finding ones. Well, since I have started shopping online, I've found many great shirts that I would just love to add to my collection.

This is the shirt that I just got in the mail as of yesterday.

Statler and Waldorf are two of my favorite Muppets, so when I found them on a shirt, I just couldn't resist ordering it. You can get your own here at BustedTees

While perusing this morning, I came across a great site called Fashionably Geek. It's an entire site dedicated to awesomely geeky clothes and accessories. Already I've found some really great links to t-shirts that I totally want.

Like this Star Wars/Calvin & Hobbs shirt from Red Bubble

It comes in a variety of colours as well. I can't decide which colour I want, so maybe I'll have to get it in numerous colours ;)

I love the t-shirts that show up on TeeFury, but I hate that I never have money when the ones that I like show up, or I find out about them after they're already done. Like this beauty that proves that sci-fi geeks like me can have the best of both worlds.

To Boldly Go Where No Star Wars Nerd Has Gone Before!

This last one I just find hilarious! I really love melding my geekery and this is no exception.

Etsy seller sandsink offers a great many fun t-shirts, so be sure to check them out here.

Do you have any fun t-shirts? Which is your favorite?
