Thursday Threads - Her Universe Halloween

Halloween is only a few weeks away!
Do you know what you're going to be yet?

If not, Her Universe has just the Halloween Collection for you!

Which bad-ass Super-heroine do you want to be?

Or are you more of a Disney Girl?

I am in love with this Minnie dress! I want it for everyday wear!

Even since I saw The Little Mermaid in theaters when I was a kid, I have always wanted her pink dress. Now I can own it! And I realize that it's meant for Halloween, but how cute would this be at a fancy dinner party?

If Studio Ghibli is your bread and butter, check out these sweet outfits

This Princess Mononoke outfit is part of a totally different collection, but I think it fit's here perfectly, don't you?

So what are you going to be for Halloween, other than totally awesome, of course

Geeky Cosplay Underwear and Bathing Suits

I love cosplaying. But there are only a few times a year that I actually get away with it; Halloween, Fan Expo... um... that's about it.

Maybe you don't feel confident enough to cosplay but still want to have some costume pride.
Perhaps Disney Bounding just isn't enough.

Maybe you're like me and you want to get into Nerdlesque.

If any of the above describes you, these underwear might be for you

Feel like a Princess with these Disney underwear sets

These sets are really nice. They're elegant enough to make you feel sexy, but also cute and fun and geeky.
Sadly, I don't know where to get them other than in Japan, but you can give it your best shot here. Hopefully you have better luck with translations than I did.

With the upcoming Sailor Moon Reboot (YAY!), a lot of new merchandise is coming back on the market (also YAY!) including these amazing underwear sets!

Although the collars and bows might hinder wearing them with some outfits, I'm not sure I would care. I would still wear these everywhere.
For a less cosplay look, they also have these more normal looking panties and sets.

Like the Disney ones above, so far these are only available in Japan through Peach John.
The other problem with these only being available in Japan, is that fact that they only come in Japanese sizing. That means no matter how much I want them, even if I got a pair I'd never be able to fit into them. Sigh... Guess I'll have to make my own. And when I do, I'm going to dance around in them like these girls are.

For those of you who are curious, yes, that is the new version of the Sailor Moon opeining song that will be used for the new cartoon.

I've featured geeky bathing suites on here before and thought I would add these great Star Wars (and Nintendo) bathing suites from Nerd Meets Girl to the ever growing selection.

Oh course I love them all, but I think the Darth Maul one is my favourite. I always find this style to be a little off putting though. These wouldn't give very much cover if you were actually gfoing to use them for swimming. They are, however, perfect for Nerlesque.

So, what do you think of these hidden cosplay gems? Drop me a line and let me know what you'd wear them for.

Thanks to Geekologie  for loving sexy nerdy ladies.

Self Rescuing Princess

A beautiful princess gets kidnapped and then rescued by a handsome prince; it's a tale as old as time. In the past it has been acceptable for a woman to take on such a passive role. But not in this day and age. Women, who have fought so hard for their rights as equals no longer want to wait around to be rescued by some prince, we want to rescue ourselves.

Oh Diana, you are my hero!
It's true though; at least for me. I love a good Disney movie, but my favorites are the ones where the woman has to fight for what she wants. Actually all my favorite cartoons and icons are strong women characters. Heck, I even love Princess Peach when she gets out of that other castle and goes on the adventure herself. Or Zelda, for that matter.

One of my favorite Princesses of all times is Princess Serenity aka Sailor Moon

She may not look like much, but she's one chick you don't want to mess with.

Are you a self-rescuing princess? Then this t-shirt from think geek is for you

Stay tough, ladies; you never know when you might need to rescue yourself from Bowser's castle.

Disney Magazines For Men And Women

Do you ever wonder what it's like to live in the World of Happily Ever After? Not don't get me wrong, I mean what would it be like if you were you, but instead of reading about Will and Kate in the tabloids, you would be reading about Cinderella and Charming, or Aurora and Philip.

What would it be like to see them on the cover of a magazine? Petite Tiara wonders about these things too.

I would totally read all of these if they were real or not! How about you, which magazine would you buy in line at the grocery store?
