Queen Amidala T-Shirts UPDATED!

I very rarely post updates about previous posts, but this was too good not too.

So I blogged yesterday about how hard it is to find Padme Amidala t-shirts. I guess I spoke a day too soon. I'm signed up for Her Universe's newsletters so I can always know right away when they get new product. This was the email I recieved about 10 minutes ago

That's right, Her Universe released new Padme Amidala merchandise this morning in honour of The re-release of The Phantom Menace in 3-D!!

Be the Queen of your own Universe with this beautiful 100% combed cotton jersey scoop neck t-shirt. Inspired by Queen Amidala and the release of Star Wars Episode I The Phantom Menace 3D in theaters, this shirt has a nice touch of gold foil to show off your regal style. 

I love the Naboo symbol above the writing! And I love the writing in gold on red! Hell, I love everything about this shirt! I'm hoping that the Her Universe logo is in gold on the back like it usually is.

I really want these! They released a charm of this for the charm bracelet, (which I have, and the other 2 charms for) but it was only available at the Star Wars weekend or Comicon or something like that, so I could never get my hands on it. I almost want to buy 2 pairs; keep one to wear and make the other pair into charms for my bracelet and make a necklace with the other.

I may not have the money right now, but when I do... Oh yes, they will be mine!

And seriously, how cute does Ashley Eckstein look in Royalty of Naboo make-up?

I kind of want to try this myself and take some pictures. Perhaps there will another update to this post later! lol!

UPDATED AGAIN!

I have since found another shirt!

 unfortunatly, it's only in men's sizing, but it's still an awesome shirt. I have no idea who the artist is, but I wish I did. I'd much rather have a print of this then a man's shirt. But if you're not as particular as I am, you can get yours here.


Also, Queen Amidala make-up coming soon. I'm trying to do it right with the white make-up base, but I'm having trouble finding it so long after Halloween. But don't worry, I will prevail.

Geeky Strings: Geek Music Of A Different Kind

Music is one of the best things ever. It can make you feel happy or sad, get you excited or fill you with suspense. What would life be without music? Boring! Can you imagine movies or video games without musical swells? The suspense, the romance, the adventure wouldn't be nearly as epic without a killer soundtrack.

I know I've posted geeky music here before, but this time it's different. This is less about geeks maiking their own music, this time it's more of a homage to the orchestral music that's helped change our lives. I have no doubt that you will recognize these song immediately.

First off we have The Piano Guys, who are not actually playing the piano, but Cellos! And if that's not cool enough, they're playing Star Wars music!

I think they must have to have really strong force shields on their strings so they don't slice them in two with their lightsaber bows. What? I'm a geek, I think about these things.

My favorite part is Darth Vader Forcing them to play his theme.

Next is a peppy girl, named Lindsay Sterling, on a violin who can whisk you away to far off places and other worlds with her beautiful renditions of great geeky music.

I love her videos! She's so cute and quirky and her destinations are perfect for her music! Here's hoping she make a lot more geeky videos in the future!

Queen Amidala T-shirts

When I first saw Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace in theaters on opening day I wasn't yet a Star Wars fan. I know, I know, shocking! I went because my boyfriend at the time and all of our friends wanted to be there for opening night. I went along for the hell of it. Considering that I had no expectations of what it was going to be, I actually enjoyed it quite a bit. I mean, it wasn't the originals, but I didn't really care. Sure, the pod-racing was boring and Anakin's pick-up line about being an Angel was lame, but that's not what excited me about the movie. To me, the best part of the whole thing was Padmé Amidala (and the fight with Darth Maul at the end). 

She was amazing as a Queen and as a hand maiden. I love strong, female characters and Padmé was no exception. She, to this day, is one of my heroes; up there with Princess Leia and Batgirl. She is the reason that I love the prequels. She is the mother of Leia and Luke, the crux and redemption of Anakin, she is a strong leader and diplomat, isn't afraid to do her own dirty work and last but not least, she does it in a kick-ass wardrobe.

This is my favorite outfit ever! When I get better at sewing, I plan to make myself this costume and join the Rebel Legion with it. Anyone can make a Princess Leia costume, but few can make a convincing Queen Amidala outfit.

It's also hard to find good merchandise of her. So far the only things that I've been able to find are these:

A Queen Amidala Classic Bust

Every doll that I could get my hands on

An awesome notepad

 A 1999-2000 calendar

And of course, my Padme Nouveau shirt from Her Universe.

I've recently come across a few other Padme t-shirts, but they are few and far between. These are for sure on my Want List! 

First up is Zazzle. You can have anything made on Zazzle, which is pretty cool if you ask me. They have quite a few Padme shirts on there, but most of them are just square screen shots, and I don't really like those. This siloette and name, however, are right up my ally.

I just came across this amazing t-shirt on RedBubble while Google searching to see if there were any t-shirts that I didn't know about. I must say, I'm glad I did!

This shirt is the reason I decided to write this post. This fantastic shirt is only available for 3 more days!! (February 12th) Oh, how I wish I had the money to buy this. Stupid you-only-have-a-few-days-to-buy-it websites...

"Her name is Padme, and she dances on the sand (of Tatooine)..." Naboo royalty meets eighties fashion art iconography. Unspeakably cool.

Valentines For Geeks

Valentines is fast approaching. I almost forgot to tell you the truth, but thankfully Tumblr reminded me with it's abundance of geek valentines cards.

The Oatmeal is always a fun place to check out, but be weary if you plan to send out any of his cards. They're funny to the right kind of person. He even calls them Horrible Cards For Valentines

A hand made card is also a nice touch, even if you didn't make it yourself. These cards from Dingbat Press and newbanZo are perfect and sweet.

But if you don't want to be sweet, you can always go the Tony Stark route. I love everyone's reactions.

I wish I knew who did the art for a lot of these cards, but alas, Tumblr is like that.
