What Do You Think About Disney Buying Star Wars?

Since Disney bought Star Wars, people have been talking about it non-stop. And who can blame them, it's pretty huge news. Everyone seems to have questions and concerns about it, but I think Batman sums it up best.

Poor Robin... That kid never gets a break.

A Most Sensational, Inspirational Celebrational, Muppetational Poat

It's time to play the music...
It's time to light the lights...
It's time to meet The Muppets on the Muppet Show Tonight!

It's time to put on make-up...
It's time to dress up right...
It's time to raise the curtain on The Muppet Show Tonight!

To introduce our guest star is what I'm here to do...
So it really makes me happy to introduce to you

The one and only BRAEBY! YAAAY!

And now let's get things started
Why don't you get things started
It's time to get things started
On the most sensational, inspirational, celebrational, Muppetational
This is what we call the Muppet Show!

(Gonzo blows his trumpet)

Oh, how I love the Muppets... let me count the ways...
Actually that would take way to long to do :P
Ever since I was a child, I have always loved the Muppets. They fill my head with laughter and make my heart swell with love.
I'm on a total Muppets kick right now, so you can imagine my excitement when I found out that they've not only made a new Muppets movie, that's due out next month, but they've also released an OPI nail polish line to go with it!

I can't even tell you how much squealing with glee I did when I first saw this, because it's almost too embarrassing to say!

Not only do I love the Muppets, but to know that Jason Segal and Amy Adams are in it makes me even more happy! Not only does Jason Segal star in the movie, he also wrote it, saying "I'm not an arrogant dude, but to be even the tiniest footnote in the Muppets lineage is nuts to me. That is insane! So I feel very honored."

He even helped create the newest member of the Muppet team; Walter. "Nick Stoller and I did. We wrote the script together, he's my writing partner. We invented Walter! We did not get to design him physically because then they would owe us a lot of money. So we came up with him on paper and then they were very clear that we could not be involved in any aspect in the physical design of Walter. But it is pretty crazy when I saw him and I knew he was born in our brains. It's like Nick and I had a little baby — with our brains." - Pop Sugar
Yes, this is the type of man you can proudly take home to your Momma.

As if this whole thing wasn't awesome enough, OPI has come out with a Muppet line of nail polishes to kick off the movie with!

I love nail polish; especially OPI and especially when it's sparkly! The fact that it's designed with the Muppets in mind is just the icing on the cake for me! I must own them all!!
Check out the names of these great colours!

Since I can't afford to buy them all at once, I have to try and pick which ones I like the best! This is really hard for me! I definitely need Fresh Frog of Bel Air, Rainbow Connection, Warm and Fozzy, Gone Gonzo and Excuse Moi!; you know, to start with :P
If you live in Canada, like me, you can order it here.

Now, I mentioned earlier that I'm on a total Muppets kick right now. Interestingly enough, this has nothing to do with either the movie or the nail polish. I was having a low day, a few months ago, so I threw on my iPod and went for a walk. As I walked, "It's Not Easy Being Green" came on, and then came on again right after, even though I had it on shuffle! If you're a Muppets fan, you will of course know this song, but for those who don't, here it is.

It gets me every time and makes me realize that things are never as bad as they seem, it's all about perspective and looking at the good in life instead of the bad. I had this song stuck in my head for weeks after, which lead me to listen to other Muppet music like "The Rainbow Connection",

"Just One Person",

And then, of course, if you're a Robin fan like I am, "Half Way Down The Stairs"

I love Robin so much! Almost as much as I love Kermit!

So after having all this music stuck in my head, I came across The Green Album

Yes, it's those songs and many more done by artists like Weezer, The Fray, Amy Lee and many others. It's awesome! All the songs are really well done, which I was a little worried about when I first picked it up.

This, of course, then got me even more into a Muppets kick then I already was, so I had to go out and buy the first 3 seasons of The Muppet Show, which I have been just loving!

I also ordered this great little book called "Frogs Are Funny!"

It has some of the best jokes from the show and movies. I read it cover to cover when it came in on my birthday. I've got it sitting along side my other favorite Muppets book "It's Not Easy Being Green And Other Things To Consider" which I found at Hallmark last Christmas.

Not only did my Dad buy me the book, but he also drew me a picture to go along with it!

(I thought I had a better picture of it, but it's on my other computer which still hasn't been fixed yet! Anyway, here it is hanging in my old apartment on my Princess and Frog wall)

I've also been reading Muppet comics that I found at the grocery store that have turned out to be pretty good.

As for crafting, I've come up with some really cute Muppet ideas, but haven't found the right fabric to make them work yet. But depending on what I can find this week, there very well might be a Muppet Halloween costume in my future! Wish me luck!

Life's like a movie, write your own ending
Keep believing, keep pretending
We've done just what we set out to do.
Thanks to the lovers, the dreamers, and you.

Dressing Up For Fan Expo

Fan Expo is this weekend and I am stoked!
Like Halloween, Christmas and my Birthday (Oct.11th if you're wondering), Fan Expo is one of the few days a year that I really look forward to.

If you saw me there last year, you would've witnessed this;

Yup, that's me, Marvel Girl.
That costume was such a hit, I got a Missed Connections from someone wanting to 'get to know the woman behind the mask'. Had I been single at the time, I probably would've met up with him, just for fun.

Anyway, this year I had decided that I wasn't going to dress up. Well to be honest, I wasn't even sure if I could afford to go, but then I decided that I was going to go anyway, but only for the Saturday.

I found out last week that both the people I'm going with are dressing up. That would make me the lame girl with them that was lame and didn't even try.
Well if you know anything about me, it's that I am not that lame girl.

So Eric's going as Squall from Final Fantasy VIII

and Ken's going as someone from some video game about something.
Eric and I have been known to dress up together for Halloween.
Like the year we did Seifer and Edea from FFVIII

(lol, we're so young in this picture)

So I thought it might be fun to do a Final Fantasy costume too.
My first thought was to do Cloud Crossplay from Final Fantasy VII

but all of his costumes are a little too complicated considering I only have a few days and limited funds.

I really wanted to do his Kingdom Hearts costume though

My next thought was that maybe I'd do Seifer or Zell Crossplay.

Sorry, it's really hard to find good drawings of Zell. Let's just say that I came across some that made even me blush!
Plus, this guy is hot AND he's dressed up as Zell! Hello eye candy!

Sorry, I digress...

Since I'm a blond right now and my hair is much shorter than it use to be, I was trying to stick with characters that I wouldn't have to change my hair much for. I figured with the Final Guys, that it would work really well for spiking with gel.

But then I got thinking, why should I dress up as a guy when there are so many awesome geek chicks that I could be.
Like Samantha Carter from Stargate SG-1

Now there's a smart, sexy blond worth emulating

Plus maybe if I dress up as her, I can find my own MacGyver... I mean Col. O'Neil...

He can gate me to another world any day! Or Daniel, I would take Daniel too!

Sorry, digressing again...

My last option involves actually changing my hair, which is ok, since I'm kinda bored with blond already and would like to go back to being a brunette.
Plus, I've always loved Velma from Scooby-Doo

Sure, she's not the sexiest of the Scooby gang, but she is the smart one who usually solves the mysteries.

(I love this picture and wish that I could find out who drew it!)

This costume would be super easy. I already have a red skirt and the glasses (not prescription, but those 3-D glasses they give out these days with the lenses popped out). If I can't find the turtleneck, I have an orange t-shirt that will work just fine. That just leaves the socks and shoes and a box of hair dye.

My other options for this weekend are costumes that I've already done before, like Robin,

Supergirl,

or ANH Princess Leia

But as I said, they've all been done before. I think if I do decide to go as any of those, I'll give it a bit of a twist. Vampire Leia anyone?

Would you let me bite you if I were dressed up like this? lol.

So, who do you think I should dress up as? Cloud? Carter? Velma?
Leave a comment; let me know. I'd love to hear what you think.

Follow up pictures will be posted next week after the Expo. And hey, if you happen to be there on Saturday and see some one dressed up as one of these characters hanging out with Squall and that video game guy, stop and say hi!

Halloween Time! Part 2

Well, after all of those other costume ideas, I finally went out and bought a costume for myself. And I must say, that in the end, I was very happy with the choice that I made, despite it not being Star Wars related. But it did have to do with one of my other favorite Geeky obsessions: Batman

I found the perfect mix of funny, awesome and sexy (yes I'm one of those girls that like to slut it up a bit for Halloween)

Introducing me as Robin, the Girl Wonder!

Holy Throwing Weapons, Batman!! Check out the Batarangs!!! (A special thanks to Ron and Edgar for making those up for me!)
This costume was just way too fun! and I felt like I could take on the world with it on.

Plus, with my best friend Indiana Jones

my boyfriend Dr. McNinja

The help of some random Superfriends

And Batman, of course

I knew that I could take on all sorts of nasty evil-doers!

Like Penguin and Catwoman for instants

I must say, all the people who stopped and let me take their picture were very good sports and I hope that the people who stopped me for pictures are thinking the same thing.

What a great night!

Oh, and for you people that don't know the awesomness that is Dr. McNinja you should check it out here:
