Thursday Threads - DC Bombshells UPDATED

A couple of weeks back I did a post on DC Bombshells. Well, at least bathing suits that Hot Topic had released. Little did I know that the bathing suites were just the beginning!

So now I'm back and updating you with these new, amazing outfits that will help unleash your inner super-bombshell

Thursday Threads - DC Bombshells

I love the DC Bombshell line. But other than posters and pint-glasses, these images have really only been showing up on Men's t-shirts. Well, not anymore. Thanks to Hot Topic, you too can cosplay and swim to your heart's content in these amazing costume bikinis

Wonder Woman

Batwoman

Poison Ivy

Harley Quinn

The Joker

Okay, okay, so the Joker doesn't really fit in with the Bombshells, but seriously, how cute is this bikini?
For me, I want the Wonder Woman one or the Harley one or... well, really any of them.

And if you're worried about not having a bikini body, here's a great tip for you!

DC Super Hero Girls

WELCOME TO SUPER HERO HIGH SCHOOL!
At Super Hero High, iconic Super Heroes like Wonder Woman, Supergirl, Batgirl, Harley Quinn, Bumblebee, Poison Ivy, and Katana navigate all the twists and turns of high school. United by friendship, the DC Super Hero Girls empower kids to shine with confidence and courage, especially while they combat those overwhelming, exciting, and awesomely awkward moments of growing up (sometimes super powers can be super stressful!).

Aspiring Super Heroes can check out our exclusive web series for the full scoop on what life is like inside the walls of Super Hero High School. In the spring of 2016, the DC Super Hero Girls will come to life with a line of action dolls, figures and accessories, books, play sets and so much more. If that doesn’t have you bursting at the seams of your cape, remember that the world of Metropolis is at your fingertips here on the website - play, explore, read and....Get Your Cape On! It’s time to meet the DC Super Hero Girls!

What can I say? I'm really excited about the new DC Super Hero Girls! I mean, they are finally, finally realizing that they have a huge female fan base and they can use the power of these superheros for good! Not only are they teaching important lessons on being yourself, they are also showing these characters for the first time as NOT being sex objects!

“DC Entertainment is home to the most iconic and well-known Super Heroes including Wonder Woman, Supergirl and Batgirl. DC Super Hero Girls represents the embodiment of our long-term strategy to harness the power of our diverse female characters.  I am so pleased that we are able to offer relatable and strong role models in a unique way, just for girls.”- Diane Nelson, President of DC Entertainment

They're all wearing reasonable outfits! None of them have cleavage or midriffs showing! I almost can't believe it!

In the vain of Monster High and Ever After High, the website features shorts that show the girls interacting with one another. They are fun and silly and not only take on the mythos of the DC characters, they allow them to be friends in spite of their differences.
As an example, although Wonder Woman and Harley Quinn are very different, they are roommates and unlikely best friends

There is a host of characters that show up in the background, but so far the guys have just been friends and not romance options, which I'm super happy about

“Together with Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment, the DC Super Hero Girls franchise will further expand our already powerful girls portfolio. We know Super Hero is a culturally relevant theme and the DC Super Hero Girls franchise will engage and inspire girls, providing cues to explore heroic acts through play and into real life.” - Richard Dickson, President, Chief Operating Officer, Mattel.

Not only are they making the show, but they are following it up with dolls and action figures (that actually look good) from Mattel, books from Random House and LEGO sets! These are all to be released in 2016 and I'm super excited! I can't wait to buy these for my niece (and maybe a doll or 2 for myself). Dolls like these allow me to reiterate to her how awesome it is to be a girl and that being a girl means being anything you want to be, including a hero!

No more disappearing female action figures or products telling us that we aren't good enough

These DC Superhero Girls are for us!

DC Bombshells

I've always wanted to be a Pin-up Girl. I love the art, the poses, the clothes... everything.
I especially love when pin-up culture gets mixed with my fandoms.

Check out this amazing new prints (which are now up for preorder) that are surprisingly licensed by DC comics

These are all gorgeous! The Black Canary one is my favourite, followed closely by Poison Ivy.
Hot Topic has already started making use of these new pictures on products like body spray and t-shirts. I actually own the Wonder Woman, Harley Quinn and Supergirl sprays. I could care less about the smell. I bought them for the art well before I ever knew I could buy them as prints.

I'm kinda hoping that these lovely ladies will soon be popping up as tattoos. I think they would make really awesome ones.

So what do you think? Are you happy with this new pin-up line?

This is so great! I would totally use this site to meet the Batman of my dreams! (that is if I wasn't already dating my own Superhero)

I love these girls! Everything they do is gold! I wish that I could be part of the team too!
Batman high-five!
