Wonder Woman Costume For A Cause

Ever wanted to be a real life Wonder Woman? I mean, not just dress up as her, but actually try and be her?
Well, now's your chance.

HalloweenCostumes.com is having a contest

More precisely, do you feel a deep desire to engage in good deeds and works of public service?
HalloweenCostumes.com has great news for you: You need not have been born with super powers to make a super change. Our Woman Costume for a Cause Contest will aid you in your quest to become the hero you've always wanted to be.
So what are you waiting for? You can fly your ideas to us via an invisible plane, or just use the convenient submission form. Submissions will close on July 4th, 2012 and we will contact the winners with further information.
100% of the proceeds of the next 80 Wonder Woman costumes sold on HalloweenCostumes.com will be allocated to funding your heroism. This contest is open to both male and female entrants, U.S. residents only.

I think that this is an amazing contest! I really wanted to enter, until I read that it's just for US residents only. Maybe if her costume looked more like this.... they'd let me enter

Anyway, I can't enter, but that doesn't mean that you can't, well, as long as you live in the US.

There are so many great ideas of things you can do.
I wanted to buy a whole bunch of superhero/heroin kids costumes and donate them to our local children's hospital. I thought that it might make them feel invincible in a time when they are not. It could give them hope and courage to fight their illness, especially in radiation and cancer wards.

I also thought of getting a bunch of people together and donating a piece of ourselves to the cause; cutting our "Amazonian" hair for locks of love or giving "super" blood for people in need.

How about volunteering at a local food bank or helping prepare a good, nutritious meal for a retirement home that can't afford good food. You could sponsor a family in need for a year or a kids breakfast program.

You could help out at a local shelter or sponsor a highway to keep clean.

There are so many things that you can do to help out in your community. The great thing about it is that you don't have to be an amazonian to do so, you just have to be yourself. No matter your shape or size, every girl is a Wonder Woman

And so are boys, don't forget, you can enter too and help make a difference in someones life.

Awesome Avengers Videos

The Avengers was awesome, just as we all expected, but now that the hype has calmed down a little, we can truly appreciate some good old parodies of it.

How about a silent movie adaptation?

I'd like to see the pile of broken bones of the person that tried to tell Black Widow to get back in the kitchen.

I love these. There are so many good ones. You can check out more by clicking the link above. It's totally worth it, just make sure you have a lot of time on your hands first.

How about Marvel Disassembled?

I loved Venom, and Silver Surfer, and Iron Man... ok, I just loved the whole thing!

Marvel Reebok Shoes For Geeks

I just found out that Reebok is set to release Marvel themed shoes in July! These are to be more like the Star Wars Adidas line, then the DC Converse line. Also similar to the SW line, from what I can tell, there will only be one of two pairs made for women...

Let's start with the women's pairs

White Queen

Out of all the female Marvel cast, White Queen is one of my least favorites. She always seemed to me as if she were a cheap replacement for Jean Grey, not to mention that she was a bad guy for so long, I have a hard time trusting her. I also hated her costume and it doesn't particularly translate well into shoes. With so many kick-ass X-Women out there, I would've opted for Jean Grey/Phoenix, Rouge, Storm, Kitty Pride, Mystique or non X-Men types like She-Hulk, Ms. Marvel or Spider Woman.

Black Widow

I know Black Widow is all the rage these days with The Avengers and I like her enough that I can understand the logic behind these shoes. Again, she wouldn't have been my first choice for female characters, but that's ok. The shoes are kind of neat. I don't really like the high-top and would've much preferred regular runners, but then I'm not a high-top kinda girl. The colour scheme is great and I do like how they've incorporated the gold of her belt into it.

So, now onto the men's shoes

Captain America

I love Captain America and I really want these shoes. I guess only time will tell if they come in women's sizes. The red white and blue look great together without screaming USA, which I like because I am Canadian (like Wolverine). I love the beveling on the blue, making it actually look like his costume. The A on the tongue is perfectly placed. The only think I would add would be his wings on the sides of the heel.

Red Skull

If you're more of a villain person, you won't be dissapointed with these Red Skull shoes. I don't really understand the whole pump action shoes, but they're still making them so they must be good. I love the Red Skull logo on the back of the shoes.

Wolverine

Is it just me or do these look like they'd be hard to get on? I love the colour combination though and that the black seems to be a little bit fuzzy. I never really pictured Wolverine to be fuzzy, but I could easily get use to it. I love the claws key-chain that comes with it.

Sabertooth

These look exactly like what I envisioned Sabertooth shoes to look like, right down to the fuzzy lining.

Spiderman

Like the Wolverine shoes, I still wonder how easy it is to get these on. Once on though, I imagine they'd be quite comfortable. I could've done with more webbing on these shoes to give them a more Spidey look, but the colours are great.

Venom

Venom is always a fan favorite and I imagine that these shoes will be a big hit. I really love the tongue key-chain. It makes me happy.

Deadpool

I know that Deadpool is pretty big with fans, but I honestly don't like him. But despite that, his shoes are pretty awesome. As gross as the lining featuring his skin condition is, it's still kinda cool.

Chamber

I'll admit it, I've never even heard of Chamber. I had to look him up. He certainly sounds interesting enough. I love the star-burst pattern on these shoes.

I just found a few more pairs while trying to find additional info on these shoes. These may or may not just be children's shoes, which I'm ok with because I have a better chance fitting into these then I do into men's shoes. I really love the top Spiderman pair. That's exactly what I was thinking about when I said that the above pair needed more webbing.

So what do you guys think? Would you buy these? Would you prefer to have different characters? If so, who? Do you agree with making them unisex sizes? Drop me a line, let me know.

Thanks to Wicked Clothes, Anthony Petrie, and Snkrology for the awesome info.

Hot Action Men Trailers

I love action movies. They might even be my favorite genre of film. Being a girl, I get a lot of weird looks about this, but I don't care; action movies are awesome.
Not to mention they usually have hot, well muscled guys running around in them, so there's an added bonus.

Two franchises that I love are soon to release new movies! YAY!!!

James Bond - 007

I've been a huge Bond fan since I first saw The Spy Who Loved Me in English Media class in high school. I've always wanted to be a Bond Girl, but then again, what girl hasn't. I went so far as to make up my own Bond Girl name; Candy KaBoom and I would also play her evil twin sister Coco KaBang.

I've loved pretty much ever incantation of Bond (especially Sean Connery) and Daniel Craig is no exception to the rule. I am a bit sad that this will be his final Bond movie, but I'm glad that they at least gave him one more to do.

Jason Bourne

I loved the first 3 Bourne movies... Ok, I loved the plots of the first 3 Bourne movies. Unfortunately the camera in the last few were so shaky that I could hardly watch them! I still really enjoyed them though, I just wish I could watch them without getting a headache. Matt Damon is totally hot, but so is Jeremy Renner!

After seeing him in the Avengers and in Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol, I'm totally stoked about seeing him in more movies, especially action movies.

Oh yes, hot men in action movies! I'm totally excited! Are you?

thanks to Hawkeye's Little Helper and I Watch Stuff for loving these guys as much as me.

Braeby Cheering Up Time

Hey guys, I know I haven't been posting much lately, but there is a reason for that.
Simply stated, my boyfriend of 3 years and I just broke up. It was mutual, so we both knew it was coming. These things happen and I'm actually doing pretty well with it. I've been looking for a job and distracting myself with friends, so I just haven't been in  a blogging mood.

Anyway, after that awkwardness, here are some videos that make me smile, so I'm posting them to cheer myself up and if you're having a bad day or just need to smile, these are for you too!

 These guys are so hot!

Speaking of hot guys...

yes please...

yeah, ok, I feel better... how about you?
