Happy International Women's Day!
Being a Woman is awesome, but it does sometimes come with some draw backs; mostly misogyny and period cramps
We've come a long way towards gender equality, but we're not there yet. We still need to keep talking about it and working with everyone to make it better.
The Government of Canada put this on their website today, explaining the ways that women are not yet equal and what we can do to help. They also had these awesome pictures expressing different ways of why #equalitymatters and trying to break stereotypes
Not only did they post these, they also included text of what the pictures contained as an extra accessibility. You keep on rockin' GOC
One of the things I love in the World is Barbie.
"But you're a feminist!" you say.
Yes, that is true, but loving Barbie doesn't change that. Barbie can be anything, do anything, and I don't know anything more empowering than that.
This year they have released this amazing ad and I think we can all learn a lot from it
Now imagine the possibilities if we taught our children this instead of focusing on looks and bodies
Also check out today's Google doodle, as it's pretty awesome
If you're in the Toronto area this Saturday (March 11th) there's the International Women's Day March Toronto taking place and yours truly will be there.
